What is Orthotics?

The dictionary defines orthotics as ‘The science that deals with the use of specialised mechanical devices to support or supplement weakened or abnormal joints or limbs’.

One of the applications of orthotics is the use of tailor-made insoles to treat imbalances, by modifying areas of pressure on the foot; these can affect not only the foot but also the entire skeletal system; the insoles are medically proven to reduce and help eradicate the pain and discomfort.

Footwear modifications and raised build-ups, AFO’s (Ankle Foot Orthosis) and DAFO’s (Dynamic Ankle Foot Orthosis) are all items, which are part of MAG Orthotics service.
